- Belgium

Basisschool Park is a primary school with over 300 pupils, both nursery and primary school. Aalst, a town of 80 000 inhabitants, is located  between two of the most important cities in Belgium: the capital Brussels and Ghent. The school population is very varied. The intercultural character of the school is distinguished by children of more than 25 different origins.
The school employs more than 2 full time teachers to  support children with a lack of educational opportunities and development (deprivation, lack of the knowledge of the language used in school). Every class contains at about 30% of those children.
A second task these teachers have is to enlarge the knowledge and teaching skills of the other colleagues.

The diversity present in this school is the perfect base for a high quality international project.

- France

Our school is located in Britanny in West of France. Noyal sur Vilaine is a little town (5200 residents) near Rennes, the biggest town of Brittany. We've got 252 pupils in our school, they are from 3 to 11 years old. We've got 4 classrooms in nursery school and 6 classrooms in primary school.  We are 22 adults at school, 13 of them are teachers. Many parents are working. Social and economical levels are quite good. Teachers, parents… want our school to be "open". So we offer different activities : swimming, skating, music project, learning English, trips, shows...  During three years (2004-2007) our school was in a Comenius project.

- Germany

We are a small primary school teaching six- to ten-year-old. Our little village is called Hiltenfingen, which is near the city of Augsburg in Bavaria. As the village is very rural, only few children get the opportunity to mix or meet with people from different cultural backgrounds. Due to the size of our school, we have classes that include pupils of e.g. year 1 and 2 in one class that are taught together. Few children with isolated learning problems can be found in every class.
Participation in the partnership will enable both children and staff to get a better idea of Europe and what it means to be a European citizen. A variety of creative activities will reinforce the experiences to be made. The children get the chance to get to know and respect different cultures. Likewise they will find out about their own culture, too. Moreover they will get the chance to improve their foreign language skills, which they usually learn in a theoretical way. For teachers, the partnership will offer a considerable, professional development, providing an insight in different educational systems and teaching methods.
